1. Who we are

2. What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Via the website contact form, AndTowns may collect personal data from users and site visitors. This may include personal data, such as name, email address, personal account preferences; transactional data, such as purchase information; and technical data, such as information about cookies. The website does not currently collect account or user data, and there are currently no plans in development to expand data collection functionality. AndTowns neither collects nor retains sensitive personal data, such as data concerning health. Data collected via the AndTowns website is collected via the website contact form for the express purpose of enabling the AndTowns team to respond to queries. Completing and submitting the website contact form constitutes your consent for this data to be collected. Data will not be stored unless there is a legitimate business need to do so, such as responding to a query. Personal data is not just created by a user’s interactions with your site. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third-party embeds. By default, WordPress, the content management system that powers the AndTowns website, does not collect any personal data about visitors. This website does not use plugins that collect data.

3. Comments

The AndTowns website does not allow comments.

4. Media

No file uploads are permissible via the AndTowns website. Note that, in the unlikely event of file upload functionality being added to the website at a future date, all uploaded files are usually publicly accessible.

5. Personal data

There is currently no facility on the AndTowns website for users to login to gated functionality, or to share personal data via forms or other means. Should this functionality be added to the website at a future date, the website has been developed with data security in mind. The sections below detail how we protect your data, steps we take in the event of a data breach, and how long we retain your data.

6. Analytics

AndTowns does not currently use analytics and does not track user interaction with the website. In the event that such tracking is installed in future, this section will detail the analytics package in use, how users can opt out of analytics tracking, and a link to our analytics provider’s privacy policy, if any.

By default, WordPress does not collect any analytics data. However, many web hosting services collect some anonymous analytics data. This is for the purposes of monitoring site usage volumes. All such data will be anonymised and no identifiable features of any kind will be recorded.

7. Who we share your data with

AndTowns does not retain or share user data. By default WordPress does not share any personal data with anyone.

8. How long we retain your data

Unless otherwise indicated, contact form entries are retained for six months. Should website analytics be installed, these anonymised records may be retained for a year.

9. What rights you have over your data

You are entitled to request retained data from AndTowns at any time. Should we have any such data in storage, we will endeavour to share this with you within 30 working days of your request. You are entitled to request that your data is deleted at any time. Should we have any such data in storage, we will aim to comply with your request within 45 working days of receipt of this request in writing, via email or post.

10. Where your data is sent

No data is transferred from the AndTowns website outside the European Union. Our web hosting providers ensure rigorous site security and data integrity.

11. Contact information

Should you have any concern about the way in which we are dealing with your personally identifiable information (PII), you may complain to the ICO.

12. How we protect your data

AndTowns users’ data is protected via security protocols on the hosting server and staff training in data protection for members of staff processing website contact submissions.
